A New Start, Health, and What Lies Ahead

Sometimes, a change doesn’t feel like a disruption…
but like exactly what you needed.

This summer brought one of those moments.

After my time with Team Elections, there was space to pause. To catch my breath. And then, a new start—back at Team Balie Burgerzaken in Almere.

And it felt right straight away.

Familiar tasks, like checking documents, brought a sense of calm. While working as a host in the front area added something different—connection. Welcoming people, helping them find their way, being that first point of contact.

A balance between structure and interaction.

And maybe that’s what makes it work so well.

Outside of work, another kind of shift was happening.

Since spring, we’ve been focusing more on health. Not in a strict or forced way—but step by step. Moving more, eating differently, supporting each other along the way.

And now, the results are starting to show.

More energy.
More comfort.
A sense that things are moving in the right direction.

For both of us.

Even small changes—like swimming regularly or finding your own pace in movement—can make a real difference over time. Not everything is easy, but it feels more balanced.

And that balance matters.

Some things are still ongoing.

The situation around the regiotaxi and wheelchair safety hasn’t been resolved yet. Conversations continue, different perspectives remain—but we keep moving forward, step by step, hoping for clarity soon.

Because safety should never be a question.

In between it all, there were lighter moments too.

A family day at the zoo. Good weather, space to enjoy, time together without pressure. Ending the day with something simple and comforting—those are the moments that stay.

And the rest of the month?

Quiet, in its own way.

Work finding its rhythm again. Small adjustments at home. Even something like solar panels becoming part of the bigger picture—looking ahead, thinking about what’s next.

And now, something to look forward to.

Time off.

A longer break, space to step away again. Visitors, plans, small surprises waiting to unfold. Not everything needs to be shared yet—some things are nice to keep just ahead of you.

Because anticipation is part of it too.

Looking back, this period wasn’t about big changes.

It was about direction.

A new start.
A healthier rhythm.
And the quiet feeling that things are falling into place again.

Sometimes, that’s more than enough. 🤍
