Some periods ask everything from you.
The past weeks were like that.
Working with Team Elections in Almere means you know what’s coming—but that doesn’t make it any less intense. In the lead-up to the European Parliament elections 2024, everything comes together at once.
Preparation.
Coordination.
Endless questions.
Locations needed to be ready. People needed answers. Materials had to be exactly where they needed to be—no room for mistakes. It’s a rhythm that builds slowly… until suddenly, everything is happening at once.
And then, the day arrives.
Election day starts early and ends late. You stay alert, ready to support, solve, and adjust where needed. And just when the day is done, the next phase begins.
Counting.
A room filled with hundreds of people, all focused on one thing—getting it right. And when it all comes together, when everything runs as it should… there’s a quiet kind of satisfaction in that.
Because behind the scenes, a lot has happened.
At home, things stayed calm.
No extra care questions, no unexpected turns. That kind of quiet support means more than it seems—it creates the space to fully focus when needed.
And then, just as the intensity settles…
A different kind of moment.
A birthday. My mother turning seventy. A table filled with family, coffee, cake, laughter. Even with tiredness still in my body, this felt important. Worth showing up for. Worth being present.
Those are the moments that balance everything out.
Now, things slow down again.
The team shifts, the pace changes, and space returns. A lighter schedule. Time to move, to recover, to breathe again.
Because after weeks like this, that’s what matters most.
Not stopping completely—
but allowing yourself to step back.
Looking back, this period wasn’t just busy.
It was meaningful.
Work that matters.
Moments that stay.
And the quiet reminder that rest is just as important as effort.
For now… it’s time to recharge. 🤍
