Some months feel like everything comes together at once.
This past month was one of those.
We’ve been trying something new—looking at things differently. Not focusing on what doesn’t work, but on what might. And it’s surprising how much that shift changes. Conversations feel easier. Solutions appear where there used to be roadblocks. Even the people around us seem to understand more.
At the same time, our home slowly became… ours again.
After weeks of work, adjustments, and a few frustrating moments along the way, the renovation is almost done. Not perfect—but safe, comfortable, and finally a place where everything fits a little better.
And then came a new possibility.
A service dog.
We had our first conversation about it in September. The idea alone already meant something—more independence, more safety in daily life. When we heard it wouldn’t be possible through one organisation, it hit hard for a moment.
But almost immediately, another door opened.
A different path. A different organisation. A new chance.
And just like that, hope returned.
Even before anything is certain, people stepped forward. Within a day of asking for help, volunteers offered to support with something as simple—and essential—as walking the dog. It’s moments like that that remind you: you’re not doing this alone.
In between all of this, something else changed.
The stairlift was installed.
Such a simple addition to the house—but the impact is huge. Moving between floors is no longer something that requires help. It brings freedom, confidence… and a little bit of independence back.
And then, in the middle of all these changes, there was also something to celebrate.
A birthday. A small, unexpected find—a chair that turned out to be exactly what was needed. Comfort in a way that can’t always be planned, but makes everyday life just that bit easier.
And through it all, there’s the quiet strength of connection.
The Mantelkring. A place to share, to listen, to breathe. A reminder that others understand, without needing many words. Seeing someone from that circle being recognised—it just feels right.
Looking back, this month wasn’t about one big moment.
It was about many small ones.
Small changes.
New chances.
Unexpected support.
All coming together.
And somewhere in between, you realise—
Sometimes, things don’t get easier.
You just get better at finding the way forward. 🤍
