A Relaxed Start

Some months begin gently… before life picks up the pace again.

June started like that.

A final week of holiday, a slower rhythm, and small things falling into place. A new bed, a new sofa—simple changes, but the kind you feel every day. Better sleep. More comfort. Even when the delivery didn’t go perfectly, it found its way to a good ending.

And finally—after everything—the house felt settled again.
A dry basement. A bit of relief. Even if small things still break or need fixing… the bigger picture felt calmer.

There was space to go outside again.

A walk through the Wisentbos, easier now with the regiotaxi. Nature close by, familiar paths, fresh air. Moments that don’t need much—but give a lot.

And at home, life brought its own little surprises.

A singing guest in the form of a canary. Cheerful, loud… and a gentle reminder that not everything that sounds nice fits your daily life.

Somewhere in between, I picked up my camera again.

Repaired, ready, and back where it belongs—in my hands. Capturing details, light, small moments that might otherwise pass by unnoticed.

Then came the moments of togetherness.

A birthday. Family. An ice cream while waiting for the bus, laughter in between the ordinary. And sometimes, the simplest gift—like a car ride home instead of a long journey—makes all the difference.

For Codee, the month brought new insights.

Conversations that go deeper. Understanding pieces of the past, and slowly finding a way to place them. Growth doesn’t always show on the outside—but it’s there.

There were also new experiences. A day out, new surroundings, new memories being made—independently, and with others.

And for me, new ways of looking at communication.

Understanding how people think differently. How that shapes conversations. And how, with a bit of awareness, things can soften. Not perfect—but clearer.

By the end of the month, one thing became clear.

It was time to slow down again.

After busy weeks, I chose rest. Said no where I needed to. Let things settle. Because balance isn’t something you find once—it’s something you return to, again and again.

And now, looking ahead…

July brings plans. Festivals. Walks. Small moments to look forward to. And also space—for both of us. Time apart, time to recharge, in different ways.

Because sometimes, rest isn’t just in doing less—

It’s in creating space to breathe again. 🤍
