This month we went swimming more often again than in previous months. It felt great to stay active!
Codee and I both visited the dentist. I had to go back later for an emergency treatment on one of my molars. The dentist was very impressed with Codee. He had seen her walking in town with her white cane and asked a lot of questions. It was really nice to see how involved he was.
Codee also had another medical treatment this month. That went smoothly. A second appointment is planned for the end of May.
On April 17, I attended the NVVB congress together with colleagues from the elections team. It was my first time there. We visited stands about elections and civil services. We also joined two workshops: one about municipal elections and one about how to properly organize a referendum.
Saturday shifts have started again as well. I’ve already completed two.
At the end of the month, we celebrated King’s Day. We walked around the flea market and enjoyed treats like orange cream puffs and fresh stroopwafels.
We also cleaned up the attic. While doing that, I already gathered some things for my caregiver-free holiday.
At work, we notice it’s getting busier. This is mainly because of the upcoming holiday season and more people traveling again.
On May 5, my mother was helping with volunteer work preparing a freedom meal. Later that morning, I stopped by as well. The ladies were already busy, so I helped with a few small tasks they didn’t have time for. After that, I took a short walk with Codee and picked up the dog, since my mother stayed there the rest of the day.
This blog is a bit shorter and also a bit later than usual—it’s already May 6. The next blog will be in June and will be about my caregiver-free holiday.
When I create photos for a specific topic, I post them on my website. I then share the link across all my channels.
