March – Moving Forward, Step by Step

Some months feel full before they even begin.

March was one of those.

Appointments, conversations, small adjustments—everything moving at once. And yet, when you look closer, it’s not the busyness that stands out… it’s the progress in between.

There are always moments that ask for patience.

The yearly eye check, for example. Not easy, never routine. Working with limited sight means adapting every step of the way. Tests don’t always fit, and not everything can be measured in the usual way. But sometimes, “no change” is already good news—and that’s what we hold on to.

At the same time, there were quiet confirmations.

Health checks that show you’re on the right path. More movement, small changes in daily life—swimming, walking, finding new ways to stay active. Not perfect, but moving forward.

And then, a shift in rhythm.

A new structure for day care. From two shorter moments to one full day. Simpler. Clearer. And it works. Sometimes change isn’t about doing more—but about doing it differently.

In between all of that, we kept our promise to ourselves.

One day each month, just to go out.

This time, to Amersfoort.

A day of trains, small streets, and discovering together. Museums like the Mondriaanhuis and Museum Flehite, each with their own atmosphere. Not everything perfectly accessible, not everything easy—but that’s part of it too.

You adjust. You explain. You experience it together.

And sometimes, the best moments aren’t planned at all—like unexpectedly running into familiar faces, or ending the day with something simple and shared.

Those are the memories that stay.

Back home, the rhythm continued.

Appointments, swimming, work that asked a bit more than usual. But also the realisation that balance is there. Not because everything is easy—but because it’s supported.

Looking back, March wasn’t just busy.

It was steady.

Small steps.
Small changes.
Quiet progress.

And sometimes, that’s exactly what moving forward looks like.

Now, onto the next adventure. 🤍
