A Busy Time, Full of Meaningful Moments

Some weeks don’t follow a straight line.

They move between calm and challenge, plans and unexpected turns. The past period—stretching from Easter into May—was exactly that.

It started with a small scare.

An accident at home. A bump against something that normally wouldn’t mean much—but in our situation, it does. With vulnerable eyesight, even something small asks for attention. So we paused, kept a close eye on things, and adjusted the space around us.

Sometimes safety is in the smallest changes.

After that, life found its rhythm again.

Day care, swimming, and moments outside—like our visit to the Keukenhof, which brought colour and calm in between everything else. And even something simple like a walk through a local market turned into a small moment of discovery.

But not everything felt easy.

Travel—something that should bring freedom—became a point of concern. The regiotaxi, meant to support independence, didn’t feel safe. A previous incident stayed in the background, and that feeling matters.

So we spoke up.

A conversation at the provincial level finally set things in motion. Steps are being taken, people are listening, and hopefully, a safer solution is on its way. Because feeling secure isn’t optional—it’s essential.

In between all of this, there were moments just for me.

Appointments that aren’t pleasant, but necessary. And even there, you find your way—through small comforts, familiar routines, and simply getting through it.

And then, space again.

A day out to Leiden, visiting the Rijksmuseum van Oudheden. A place where accessibility isn’t just about entering—but about experiencing. Finding ways to see, to explore, to enjoy in your own way.

Another day took us to Rheden.

Nature, hills, effort. A walk that asked more—but gave more in return. Sometimes it’s not about how easy it is, but about what you gain from pushing just a little further.

Not every event fits.

Busy festivals, crowded spaces—they don’t always work for us. So we choose differently. A concert instead. Music, atmosphere, something that brings energy without the pressure.

And now, things shift again.

Work becomes busier. Time becomes tighter. So we adjust. Fewer outings, more rest. Choosing where energy goes, instead of spreading it too thin.

Because that’s the balance.

Not doing everything—
but doing what works.

Looking back, this wasn’t just a busy period.

It was real.

Small setbacks.
Important conversations.
Moments of joy in between.

And through it all… continuing, adapting, finding the way forward.

Always. 🤍
