The month started well: a new camera and a lovely walk in the beautiful Veluwezoom National Park area. It sounded like the perfect start.
But unfortunately… during the last half kilometer of my walk, things went wrong. Suddenly, I was on the ground. Not fun at all! Luckily, I had taken a fall training course in the past. Because of that, I was able to limit the damage.
Four weeks of recovery
The past four weeks were painful. Think bruises and bruised ribs. Not great, but step by step it’s getting better. I’m still not lifting heavy things for now. Cycling is possible again, and thanks to the help of my colleagues, I was able to keep working.
Some of you already knew this. Others mainly saw the beautiful photos I took during the walk. Haven’t seen them yet? Then check out 👉 the Beekhuizen walking route.
Rest, learning, and a bit of work
Because of the fall, I had to take things slow. Luckily, Codee helped as much as possible with the household. That really made a difference.
I also used this time to learn new things. I followed a course called “Clear Writing” with Loo van Ek. Very useful! I will definitely use this in my work and in my personal life. By using ChatGPT and writing at a B1 level, I want to make my blogs easy to read for everyone.
I also attended a meeting about next year’s elections. It was interesting to think along and ask questions.
Photography: a new challenge
To improve my photography, I followed a short course. From now on, I’ll use manual mode more often. A bit exciting, but I got good guidance, so I feel confident!
Time for fun moments
Luckily, there were also fun moments. I went out for dinner with colleagues and had a lovely evening with my mother. First dinner together, then to the theater—we saw 3JS in Nunspeet. A wonderful night!
And how is Codee doing?
Yes, I’m still a caregiver for Codee. Thankfully, she is doing quite well. In earlier blogs, we mentioned that she started picking up an old skill again. We hope to share more about that soon!
