Codee heeft significante vooruitgang geboekt in haar zelfstandigheid door af te vallen en gezonder te eten. Ze leert zelfstandig wandelen met een taststok, wat haar vrijheid vergroot. In april heeft Codee haar hoofd gestoten en moest ze extra voorzichtig zijn vanwege oogproblemen. Er waren aanpassingen nodig om herhaling te voorkomen. Er waren uitstapjes en een belangrijke afspraak over rolstoelproblemen. De auteur bracht ook rustige momenten door, had een tandartsafspraak en maakte plannen voor de toekomstige blogposts.

Summary: Op 13 april 2024 gingen we naar de Keukenhof. We vertrokken vroeg en namen de trein. Op Schiphol namen we de bus naar de Keukenhof. Omdat Codee een rollator gebruikte, konden we rustig bloemen bekijken. We kwamen erg moe thuis, maar het was een mooie dag. Codee zou het zeker opnieuw doen.

Codee ondergaat jaarlijks een uitdagend oogonderzoek vanwege haar bewegende ogen en slecht zicht. Haar bloed wordt halfjaarlijks gecontroleerd vanwege suiker- en schildklierproblemen, waarbij verbeterde fysieke activiteiten gunstig blijken. Daarnaast wordt haar dagbestedingsregeling voor een jaar verlengd, terwijl ze regelmatig musea bezoekt, waaronder het Mondriaan huis en Flehite museum.

In februari was er veel verandering en drukte door afspraken. Ondanks uitdagingen met Fibromyalgie en beperkingen, gaat het zwemmen steeds beter. Fysiotherapie boekt vooruitgang. Een trippelstoel en aanpassingen werden geleverd voor betere houding en comfort. Codee’s halfjaarlijkse check was positief. Als mantelzorger ben ik nieuwsgierig naar anderen. Volgende maand meer.

In januari 2024 besluit de auteur haar foto’s alleen nog op Instagram en Facebook te delen, terwijl ze haar blogs op haar website gaat hervatten. Ondanks gezondheidsproblemen, lukt het haar nog steeds om werk en zorg te combineren. Ze bereidt zich voor op een langzaam tempo vakantie en focust op haar gezondheid.

In de afgelopen maand ontving Codee goed nieuws over haar hulphond. Ondanks enkele gezondheidsproblemen, blijft ze positief en kijkt ze uit naar nieuwe ervaringen. Er waren ups en downs, maar over het algemeen was het een maand vol hoop en vastberadenheid, met een mooi vooruitzicht op herstel.

In oktober hebben we veel bereikt, waaronder het voltooien van de verbouwing en installatie van een traplift voor Codee. We hebben ook hulp gezocht voor een hulphond, wat uiteindelijk via Personal Service Dogs Drenthe is gelukt. Daarnaast hebben we steun gekregen van vrijwilligers via vraagelkaar.nl. We zijn ook trots op onze Mantelkring gemeenschap.

De auteur heeft een verandering in haar planning en huishoudelijke taken gemaakt om balans te vinden, maar dit leidde tot meer stress. Terugkerend naar de oude routine en minder strikte planning is nu het doel. Er zijn wijzigingen in uitjes, abonnementen en zorgverplichtingen, met een focus op meer ontspanning en flexibiliteit in de toekomst.

De traplift voor mijn huisgenoot werd snel goedgekeurd na een positief gesprek met de gemeente. We wachten nu op de installatie. Ook hebben we een hulphond aangevraagd en Codee moet binnenshuis een loophulpmiddel gebruiken vanwege toegenomen balansproblemen. Ik ben zelf bij de manueel therapeut voor mijn vastzittende bovenrug, schouders en nek.

Ik ben de afgelopen 3,5 jaar mantelzorger geweest en moest nu voor het eerst echt naar mezelf kijken. Het werd duidelijk dat mantelzorg meer van mijn leven overnam dan ik besefte. Codee heeft haar vakantie geweldig gevonden, maar haar mobiliteit achteruit zien gaan door overbelaste schouders. Na fysiotherapie en huisaanpassingen, wacht het gezin nu op een traplift. Ondertussen ondergaat Codee een grootschalig onderzoek om de oorzaak van haar ziekte en toekomstverwachtingen te begrijpen. Emotional support is ook belangrijk in deze moeilijke tijd.

Summary: Een CIZ-indicatie voor buitenhuisbegeleiding werd aangepast wegens beperkt gebruik en de wens voor meer vrijheid. Nu is de persoon aangemeld bij een vrijwilligersvereniging voor hulp bij afspraken en sociale activiteiten. Ook wordt hulp gezocht voor slechtziendheid bij Bartiméus. Het nieuwe jaar is begonnen en als mantelzorger moet ik me aanpassen aan veranderingen in de zorg. Mijn huisgenoot heeft buitenhuis begeleiding nodig, maar haar gezondheid verslechtert. Gelukkig hebben we oplossingen gevonden, zoals een aangepast bed en rolstoel. We staan voor nieuwe uitdagingen, maar laten ons niet ontmoedigen. Succes aan alle mantelzorgers in 2015!

In november 2014 kregen we bezoek van Mezzo, de landelijke vereniging die zich inzet voor mantelzorgers en zorgvrijwilligers. Ze benaderden ons naar aanleiding van een verhaal dat ik had geschreven over mijn ervaring als mantelzorger voor Codee. Mezzo nam foto’s en deelde ons verhaal op hun site, wat ik enorm waardeer.
